Scenario 3: Someone disguised as CIBC staff to phone me in order to coax me. Which possibility are you in favor of?

The mortgage lender ( BMO) claims automatic payment from my CIBC account was returned by CIBC, but my bank record indicates no such return. So who created such black-hole?
