From the perspective of psych-analysis some tragedy was resulted from the fact that communist rule since Mao's takeover of China has destroyed people's independent personality and thinking which I concluded 20 years ago and manufactured a bunch of tragedians. In reference to Mr.Lu Xun those who knelled tried to blame those who kept up-standing, in my understanding those whose Qing Dynasty and/or communist pigtail has not been scissored psychologically tried to accuse the one who severed it.
Besides the late president Chiang, Kai-shek once addressed in the Annunciation to Entire Nation for the Establishment of Capital in Nanjing in 1927--being not unaware of the evil nature of communist party, some Chinese should enter inferno in order to be disillusioned; Mr.Bo yang also expressed similar notion that being slaved by foreigner can be disillusioned for those with dullness of mind and cold blood.
By the way, raising the billboard bannered "Free Wang Dan, Free all political dissidents" in front of federal government build, I attended some demonstration in Los Angeles in the presence of major US TV networks in 1995.
